The boy I share the new flat and a large chunk of my life decided that earning money whilst on a beach in Guadeloupe sounded like a much better idea than earning money in a potentially rainy UK.
I can't say I blame him. I can say I'm jealous of him.
To distract me from my loneliness in a new city, my best friend came to stay the weekend before also leaving me for more exciting climates (Slovenia).
I'll get my holiday revenge on both of them one day but until then, Oxford has proved somewhat delightful in the sun. Helped endlessly by FINALLY having a garden!
Okay so it's more of a small meadow than a garden. But it's covered with friendly bees and even has a small bistro set.

collecting.
For some reason, England decided to stop playing up and blessed us with sunshine this weekend. It was deeply confusing and highly exciting.
We decided to take a trip back to our university town to source some pieces for the new flat. We were lucky to catch a very out of the way place just before it closed and picked up what I can only describe as the sexiest cutlery set I've ever seen.
I've also been stuffing my little face quite heartily! We've promised ourselves we won't go out for dinnermost nights every night.
We'll see how long that lasts.

late breakfast
I'm starting to discover what I actually enjoy for breakfast. Sliced Nectarines and pork liver pate on Ryvitas is a winner so far.
But only when my best friend isn't in the flat. The sight and smell of pate makes him feel very nauseated.
All I need to add is a delicious coffee.

hola.
I had my first big chunk of time off in nearly a year. Aside from Christmas (can I count driving from London to the Lake District with a slight hangover as actually being hard work? Yeah? Thanks.)
A close friend got 10 days off and we hopped it to Barcelona. I have never been. I will return. Hopefully when the weather is so hot all we can bare to do is roll in and out of the sea all day drinking cold beer and eating tapas.

food.
I've eaten a lot of good food recently.
The last three photos are from my best friend and my favourite restraunt, La Petite Auberge on Upper Street in Islington.
I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

with love.
Yesterday morning, I was like the best boyfriend ever. Home made blueberry pancakes, fancy juice, coffee and miniture potted Daffodils for my two nearest and dearest.
The evening was spent as a group of five, it was the first time we've all been single since we met. Dasilva found a little French restaurant on Dean Street, Pierre Victoire. Delicious and candle lit. So very romantic!
Alex looking gorgeous in a sparkly top and floaty skirt
Boots is always dashing.
My dress was a gift from a close friend and that BEAST of a necklace is from a stall just off Upper Street in Islington.
The highlight was being able to spend the whole day with my favourite person, Jonny.
I hope everyone's day was full of love, no matter if that love comes from a partner, friends or family. All love is good love!

treat.
I was devastated when KitKat stopped making the peanut butter Chunky. Now it's back I plan on buying entire boxes of the things, just in case it disappears again.
I couldn't handle it leaving me twice.Monday, 30 January 2012
on the go.
New job started today. I just bought 15 vintage coats for £60. Time to celebrate with a packed lunch in the car. This salad is on serious need of halloumi though. Everything in life is made better if you add cheese.

gift.
Are there many things better than very late birthday presents? These are my late present from a gorgeous friend I certainly don't see enough.
I'm a fan of plastic flowers. You don't get that sadness of realising you're a bad flower-mother when you come home and the thing has withered and died. And orange is my ultimate happy colour.
Plus chocolate with in-jokes written on it? Genius.

lunch discovery.
I get hungry very frequently. Like, every two hours frequently. Today for lunch I was craving falafel. Luckily, a cafe over the road from work which I have never tried before had a falafel, hummous and harissa sandwich on the special board. I obliged. It's amazing. And they serve Illy coffee. Well worth a visit if you're around Vauxhall and need a lovely light lunch.
Find them here.

new job.
I have disappeared for a while. The last film I was working on that was featured here turned out to be a total disaster. But lessons were learned and I gained some rather lovely new friends from it. But onwards and upwards.
I've now gone from Costume Designer to Costume PA. From the top to the bottom, From the smallest budget to the biggest. And I couldn't be happier. Plus, the on set catering is soooo much better. No more stone cold chicken and rice every single day for me. A barbequed pork chop at 11:30 am? Why the bloody hell not I ask you?!
Plus, the very first feature I worked on is available to pre-order on Amazon here. You should get it. It's pretty funny.
