settling in.

The boy I share the new flat and a large chunk of my life decided that earning money whilst on a beach in Guadeloupe sounded like a much better idea than earning money in a potentially rainy UK.

I can't say I blame him. I can say I'm jealous of him.

To distract me from my loneliness in a new city, my best friend came to stay the weekend before also leaving me for more exciting climates (Slovenia).

I'll get my holiday revenge on both of them one day but until then, Oxford has proved somewhat delightful in the sun. Helped endlessly by FINALLY having a garden!

Okay so it's more of a small meadow than a garden. But it's covered with friendly bees and even has a small bistro set.

going home.

A lot has happened.
The most important thing being putting an offer on a flat with two of the most important people in my life and some random boy I met last year who I have become very fond of.
I'm considering this to be my proper move to London. We will finally have social space, a kitchen that is actually big enough to cook in and the one thing every home should have, a craft room.
We're all very excited and I hope to document the transformation of the flat. Probably a very empty threat but hopefully it will be a thing to be proud of!

hola.

I had my first big chunk of time off in nearly a year. Aside from Christmas (can I count driving from London to the Lake District with a slight hangover as actually being hard work? Yeah? Thanks.)
A close friend got 10 days off and we hopped it to Barcelona. I have never been. I will return. Hopefully when the weather is so hot all we can bare to do is roll in and out of the sea all day drinking cold beer and eating tapas.

it's the thought that counts.

My best friend is concerned that I'm losing weight because of work. So today he made me a packed lunch full of home made cakes and sausage rolls. And a sweet message for afters.

must try harder.

I should probably send this out to all of my friends. I tend to fall asleep in their company rather a lot at the moment.

with love.

Does anyone really care about Valentine's Day that much? Probably not. My sister prefers the practical approach. I like to use it as a day to celebrate the loves of my life, my closest friends.
Yesterday morning, I was like the best boyfriend ever. Home made blueberry pancakes, fancy juice, coffee and miniture potted Daffodils for my two nearest and dearest.

The evening was spent as a group of five, it was the first time we've all been single since we met. Dasilva found a little French restaurant on Dean Street, Pierre Victoire. Delicious and candle lit. So very romantic!

Alex looking gorgeous in a sparkly top and floaty skirt

Boots is always dashing.

My dress was a gift from a close friend and that BEAST of a necklace is from a stall just off Upper Street in Islington.

The highlight was being able to spend the whole day with my favourite person, Jonny.

I hope everyone's day was full of love, no matter if that love comes from a partner, friends or family. All love is good love!

random acts of awesomeness

I'm fairly positive I have a brilliant group of friends.
This was confirmed yesterday. I have been working as costume designer for a short film and I destroyed my bedroom in the process. It was so organised at the beginning but towards the end a mixture of frantic sewing, lack of sleep and a temper tantrum with a suitcase full of vintags dresses meant my room resembled that of a stereotypical teenager (there was even old plates of Chinese take-away. The plates make it more grown up than foil tubs. Because I'm an adult now. Apparently)
The last day of shooting was insane. But we finished.
Driving home I was so excited about bed but totally dredding my self inflicted doom.
But instead of Crud (whinnie the pooh reference for those in the know) the was fairy lit gloriousness.
Two of those amazing friends had not only tidied my room while I was working, but also arranged it beautifully. I was close to tears with joy and appreciation.
Still am now.
