on the go.

New job started today. I just bought 15 vintage coats for £60. Time to celebrate with a packed lunch in the car. This salad is on serious need of halloumi though. Everything in life is made better if you add cheese.

random acts of awesomeness

I'm fairly positive I have a brilliant group of friends.
This was confirmed yesterday. I have been working as costume designer for a short film and I destroyed my bedroom in the process. It was so organised at the beginning but towards the end a mixture of frantic sewing, lack of sleep and a temper tantrum with a suitcase full of vintags dresses meant my room resembled that of a stereotypical teenager (there was even old plates of Chinese take-away. The plates make it more grown up than foil tubs. Because I'm an adult now. Apparently)
The last day of shooting was insane. But we finished.
Driving home I was so excited about bed but totally dredding my self inflicted doom.
But instead of Crud (whinnie the pooh reference for those in the know) the was fairy lit gloriousness.
Two of those amazing friends had not only tidied my room while I was working, but also arranged it beautifully. I was close to tears with joy and appreciation.
Still am now.

casual friday.

I'm not a jeans t-shirt and trainers girl. I'm a Brogues, chinos and silk shirt girl. But recent bouts of on set costume stand-by work and the purchase of a particularly garish pair of Nike Airs, stirred by a small section on the dress down chic of trainers in Wednesday's London Evening Standard has got me thinking maybe I could be a trainer girl.

big knit.

You know it's a good day when you've got matching jumpers.

start the way you intend to continue.

I don't do new year resolutions. After all, rules were made to be broken. But every year I promise myself to spend more time with my friends. So I kicked off 2012 in the perfect way. Curled up in bed all day with a group of my closest friends watching Youtube videos and bad films, eating chocolate fingers, Herschey's Kisses and drinking gallons of tea. Our day in videos went a little something like this:

And this little gem of Chris Mintz-Plasse and Dave Franco which for one reason or another I can't seem to link to like the other videos.
I got a C in ICT GSCE, it's a wonder I worked out how to make a blog in the first place.
Then we bough pizza and the only thing there was left to do was settle in with some quality examples of film-making.

My best friend (who is a boy) and myself fully intend on doing this as fancy dress one day.

Which is okay because Bill Murray and Sam Rockwell are in it. Right?
Who cares, I want them all to be friends.

2012, you are already set up to be a fine year of taste, sophistication and productivity.
